Resources for Activities and Discussion
The activities listed here are tailored for different age groups and settings. The activities can be used for students and young adults in classrooms, youth programs, university clubs, summer camps, and other formal or informal Jewish education spaces. The objective of these programs is to create a dynamic and meaningful discussion about Israel, Jewish identity, and social responsibility, as well as to deepen the learning experience and knowledge of the participants. Click on any of the activities below for detailed instructions and talking points.
Engage, explore, and continue the conversation.
Note: The brochure timeline is a “catalogue of tragedies” view of Jewish history. Any facilitator of the included activities should explicitly introduce the activity by noting: “This timeline emphasizes many of the painful events Jews have endured, but Jewish history is also filled with creativity, leadership, renewal, and cultural flourishing. While engaging with these events, think not only about suffering, but also about survival, continuity, and resilience.”
Without this framing, participants might walk away with a distorted, overly negative sense of Jewish history.
